Hardwood Pulping Process
Hardwood pulp is made from broadleaf trees such as birch, poplar, and eucalyptus. Broadleaf trees have short growth cycles and are abundant resources, making them the main tree species for integrated forestry, pulp, and paper production in my country, and also one of the best raw materials for pulp and paper making.

Hardwood Pulping Introduction
2.1 Wood Chip Washing and Pretreatment
Wood chips are washed in a wood chip washer to remove dirt and sand, then temporarily stored in a wood chip silo before being fed into the impregnation system via a screw feeder.
2.2 Chemical Impregnation Section
Wood chips come into contact with chemical agents (alkaline hydrogen peroxide, etc.) in the impregnator, where the agents penetrate the wood chips to soften the lignin.
Equipment Structure: Wood chips are compressed into a plug by a conical screw feeder, then conveyed upwards in a vertical impregnation tower for impregnation. The impregnation time is adjustable, and the temperature is controlled between 50-100°C.
2.3 Pulping Section – Core Equipment: Double Disc Refiner
Impregnated wood chips enter a double-disc mill for grinding.
Double-Disc Refiner: Employs two coaxially rotating discs for more thorough fiber processing.
2.4 Bleaching Section
The ground pulp enters a high-consistency bleaching tower for hydrogen peroxide bleaching, and then proceeds to the washing and concentration stage.
2.5 Screening and Purification The slurry is finely screened by a pressure screen to remove fiber bundles and impurities, then thickened by a multi-disc thickener before being sent to a storage tower.
