Its basic working principle is as follows: a large number of microbubbles are introduced into the pulp. The hydrophobic substances, such as ink particles, adhere to the surface of the bubbles and rise to the pulp surface with the bubbles, forming a foam layer. The foam is then discharged by scraping or overflow, thus achieving separation from the fibers.
